There is one everlasting, perfect God, who created the world and everything in it. He is all-present, all-powerful, all-knowing and unchanging. God exists as Trinity – one God but also three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Bible is inspired by God and completely trustworthy. It is sufficient for teaching us what to believe and how to live.
All humans are created by God as male or female and all have dignity as those made in God’s image.
God made humans perfect, but they turned away from God. Because of this, mankind is spiritually dead, born sinful and unable to turn back towards God without the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is fully God, yet He became fully human when He was born on earth by a virgin named Mary.
Jesus lived a perfect life and was put to death on a cross, becoming our substitute, receiving the punishment for our sin. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead. Soon afterwards, He ascended to heaven, where He is now ruling over everything and praying for His church.
We can now be born again by the Spirit as a free gift, by believing in Jesus as Saviour and trusting in Him as Lord. When we do this we will be completely forgiven and restored to the kind of relationship with God that God intended from the beginning.
After Jesus returned to heaven, the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the church. He dwells in every believer to make them more like Jesus and to empower them with spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit also draws non-believers to Jesus.
Jesus is building His church around the world. The local church extends the Kingdom of God, as God is worshipped, the Bible is preached, people are born again, the poor are cared for and the sick are healed.
Believers are baptised in water as a re-enactment of their death and resurrection in Jesus and a public declaration of commitment to Him. Communion is shared as a central part of worship to remember Jesus’ death and resurrection and to receive from His Spirit.
Jesus will one day return to earth and God’s Kingdom will come in fullness, establishing a new heaven and new earth. All mankind will be judged, bringing eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost.
